A Rotavator is a piece of agricultural machinery also known as a rotavator tiller is a motorized tiller that is used on the soil through rotating blades. A Rotavator can either be self-propelled or drawn as an extension behind the tractor or two-wheeler. Self-propelled rotary tillers are small types of a tiller that are best suitable to be used in domestic gardens or grass gardens. While heavy-duty rotary tillers are best to use on large farms attached to two or four-wheel tractors. Additionally, rotavators are also used commercially to prepare the ground before road construction. What are Agricultural Rotavator?
An agricultural rotavator is generally used attached to a tractor and powered via the tractor’s PTO. These rotavators generally reduce the time of preparing land significantly and are capable of preparing 1 hectare of land in 8 to 10 hours. These are generally used by farmers to prepare the seedbed in both wetland and dryland conditions all over the world. It is usually considered secondary tillage implement, it can also be used as primary tillage equipment. It is also appropriate if a farmer wants to use it for cultivation between rows of plants, and other similar uses. Rotavator Safety tips and maintenance instructions A rotavator needs special awareness to be operated and maintained very carefully. Be very careful while operating as any contact with the rotating tines can be very dangerous, and can cause grave injury. Always Keep other nearby people especially children at a safe distance. Avoid any types of large roots and rocks, if possible clear out before using the tiller, as such objects and cause the rotavator to jump out of control. The engine oil of the tiller and filter need to be changed regularly. For standard recommended oil change is after 50 hours of use or at least once a year, or if the oil appears dirty. Additionally, the air filter should be often cleaned or replaced when needed. Also, the tines and frame should be washed after use. |
